Hunt Big Whitetail Deer In Iowa & Missouri

Iowa Trophy Hunts manages over 5,000 acres in Southern Iowa in Zone 5. We also run hunts on over 3,000 acres in Northern Missouri with our company "Missouri Trophy Outfitters". We conduct 100% fair chase hunts on private property. We are located in the heart of big whitetail country and have hand selected these area to run our deer hunting operation. We have been guiding deer hunters full time for 6 years.

The terrain in Iowa and Missouri is typical Midwest terrain - broken fields with small timber lots, wooded draws and fence lines, basically all farms have agriculture and some CRP. Lodging and home cooked meals are provided on most hunts. Semi-guided hunts may be available depending on the season.

In Iowa we operate a small number of hunts per year with great success rates on trophy deer - just ask our references! Basically all properties have good cover and crops. The stand site are mostly comfortable ladder stands and enclosed box blinds to help shield our hunters from the harsh Iowa conditions. There are some openings due to the lottery system for tags and the multiple gun seasons in Iowa. There are 3 gun seasons to choose from in Iowa. The first shotgun/muzzleloader season starts the first Saturday in December and runs for 5 days. The second shotgun/muzzleloader season starts the second Saturday in December and runs for a 9 day period. The late muzzleloader season goes until the second Saturday in January. All gun hunts are sold as a five day hunt - additional days may be added on a per case basis to the second gun and late muzzleloader seasons. Lodging is in farm houses with a maximum 6 hunters per house. We run two houses during our busiest season. We prefer that the hunters book 2 years in advance, applying for a preference point the first year, then the second year our hunters are assured a gun tag for the season of their choice. We may be able to take bookings one year in advance depending on scheduling. All information about deer hunting tags in Iowa can be found by visiting the Iowa Department of Natural Resources website. The application period for non resident deer hunters is usually the first Saturday in May through the 1st of June. Applications can be taken over the phone at 1-800-367-1188 or by applying online at the Iowa Department of Natural Resources website.

Missouri offers over the counter tags and a great chance at hunting a big Missouri buck with your rifle. We also have great opportunities for semi - guided rut bow hunts in Northeast Missouri. The gun season is a rifle season and it is situated right in the heat of the rutting season - leading to exciting encounters. The gun season is in November typically opening the Saturday closest to November 15th . The hunts in Missouri require the hunter to take care of his/her own lodging and food. We have a block of rooms available for our hunters at the newest hotel in the area, it is very nice, affordable, and accommodating to our hunters. Package bow and gun hunts are available upon request. All properties are equipped with multiple comfortable ladder stands and bow stands.

A $1000 deposit is required per hunter for most booking. Deposits are non refundable. The hunter is responsible for applying for his/her tag. In Iowa, failing to apply for a preference point or your deer tag will result in the loss of your deposit. A change of season or dates may result in the loss of your deposit.
