Iowa Hunting Rates
10 Day Archery (semi-guided): $3,000
5 Day Gun Season 1 (guided): $3,500
5 Day Gun Season 2 (guided): $3,000
5 Day Late Muzzleloader (guided): $2,500
A $1000 deposit is required for a booking. The hunter is responsible for applying for his/her tag. Failing to apply for a preference point or your deer tag will result in the loss of your deposit. A change of season or dates may result in the loss of your deposit.
The remainder of the hunt is due 45 days before opening day or you deposit may be forfeited and your spot giving to other hunters that are waiting for cancellations. In Iowa some hunts will have the option of paying the final payment in camp. This will be decided well in advance and we are happy to work with our hunters on payment - but once a structure is set you will be required to stick to it or loose your deposit and hunt.
We will be hunting in Zone 5. You will need to choose your season (A. Regular Gun Season1, B. Regular Gun Season 2, C. Bow Season, or D. Muzzleloader Season). If you have not previously applied for a tag in Iowa you will need to provide the Iowa DNR with the following information:
Out of state hunters will need to fax your name, address, Social Security #, date of birth, gender, height, weight, eye color, and a copy of your hunter safety education card from your state. Please fax all of this to the Iowa DNR @ (615) 263 4271. They will create a computer record for you and you will be set up to call 1-800-367-1188 in early May. The non resident drawing for tags closes in June. More information can be found on the Iowa DNR web site.
There is an application fee of $15 dollars for those that do not draw a tag; you will receive a refund for the cost of the tag. Those that draw a tag will be charged for the cost of the tag. Your chances of drawing a tag are better for the gun seasons than the bow season. If you are not interested in hunting this year I would advise purchasing a preference point for next year, especially for archery hunters. Please plan ahead, most of the hunts are sold at least a year in advance.
